Qing is joined by violinist Ari Isaacmen-Beck and Jazz trumpeter Barry Long for American Voices: Spirituals, Hymns, and Jazz, co-sponsored by Bucknell’s Griot Institute and Music Department. This program explores early uses of American vernacular traditions in the Classical Music world, with works by William Grant Still, Harry Burleigh, W.C. Handy, Charles Ives, Antonin Dvorak, and Maurice Ravel.
